SARAN, India -- A U. S. Customs and Border Protection team is in the middle of trying to intercept two shipments of drugs from China that have been sent in violation of U. Customs regulations.
The packages, which were intercepted by the agency in late May, were packed in plastic bags, the team said in a statement.
The shipments were headed to a warehouse in Shandong province in the north, where the FDA has warned that "significant shipments" have been intercepted.

"This is an ongoing and complex process, and we are committed to being a responsible and safe country that protects our own people," said U. Attorney General Eric Holder.
The drugs, which are used to treat erectile dysfunction, were intercepted during an operations conducted by the FDA.
Investigators said the FDA will be required to disclose all information related to the shipments to the FDA's Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).
In a statement, HSI said it was "respectfully aware" of the ongoing investigations and has "great confidence" in the agency's handling of the case.
Customs agents were asked to stop intercepting the shipments, which were being sent from China.

The U. S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seized sildenafil (Viagra) tablets over the counter (OTC) at an office in New York City on Thursday, in an operation that lasted for several days.
The sildenafil tablets were seized by CBP officers in a shipment from a foreign pharmacy in the United States. The shipment from the U. was headed to an individual in Russia.
